It's All Happening

"He was a man who understood the virtue of small things." -Greg Mortenson

Throughout our lives, we wait in anticipation for the moment.

The few minutes that change everything from that point going forward.

For some, it will be walking off stage with a diploma in hand. For others, it will be making an eternal promise to your soulmate on the altar. The first assignment of your dream career. Turning the key in the door of your first house. Holding your newborn child in a hospital bed. Taking flight towards your first adventure after retirement.

These are only a few of the moments that we believe our lives truly begin, moments that define our individual journeys towards self-fulfillment. In times of despair, moments like these give us hope. A reason to keep going.

Though it's important to focus ahead of us, we must not lose sight of the fine details that make up the bigger picture.

It's all happening.

The line comes from the character Penny Lane of the film Almost Famous and has become a bit of a personal mantra for me.

Each and every day we experience moments, both big and small, that will eventually lead us to our destinies.

When our minds are stuck years into the future, the present-day begins to fade. As obvious as it may seem, it can be easy to forget that our lives have already begun.

Keep your face towards the sunshine of tomorrow but remember to find beauty in today as well.

Sending love, always.
